"I dont know where all my free space has gone..! "

It happens to everyone eventually. Your hard drive is suddenly full and you are left wondering where did all my free space go? Now you must begin the task of deleting old files and folders to reclaim space but where do you start? In the past I would suggest manually checking the sizes of all of your folders so you know where to begin the hunt but now there is a great utility called WinDirStat that does the work for you. After inspecting a drive you are shown exactly how much data is in each folder, what file types are taking up the most space and even a visual representation of the files on your disk.

Features
WinDirStat reads the whole directory tree once and then presents it in three useful views:
  • The directory list, which resembles the tree view of the Windows Explorer but is sorted by file/subtree size,
  • The treemap, which shows the whole contents of the directory tree straight away,
  • The extension list, which serves as a legend and shows statistics about the file types.
  • Coupling. Select an item in the directory list: The treemap highlights it; and vice versa.
  • Zooming.
  • Built-in cleanup actions including Open, Show Properties, Delete.
  • User-defined cleanups (command line based).
  • Works with network drives and UNC paths.
  • 'Create disk usage report' option.
Free Download WinDirStat.

Tweak Windows 7 : Change logon Screen.

Here's an interesting Windows 7 tweak that allows you to customize your winodws7 logon screen.
You can do this with Tweak.com LOGON SCREEN CHANGER. It offers a very easy-to-use interface from which you can easily set a new logon screen for your Windows 7. What makes it different from the other logon changers is that it is portable and shows you the preview of your current and new logon screen.

Just run the tool and you will find the following screen.

Simply hit the Change Logon Screen button, browse and select the new image and it will become your new Logon screen.

Make sure that the background you select is smaller than 256KB, otherwise it will be rejected because of a size limitation set by Microsoft.
If you want to remove your customized background just click Revert to Default Logon Screen and the registry changes will be removed.

Tweak Windows7 - Reduce hangup time on welcome screen.

Many of the Windows 7 users complain that their system hangup on welcome screen for long time.
If you set a solid color background instead of a picture or a wallpaper, your system will hang for 30 seconds during the logon process. It is a limited yet huge problem.

Instead of fixing this problem manually, Microsoft has provided a small to application to get rid of this glitch.
The application is called HOTFIX.
You will see the x86 version of Hotfix if you are using Internet Explorer(32-bit) or any other browser. To download the 64-bit(x64) version of Hotfix you will have to visit the above link using Internet Explorer(64-bit).

You can download it from the link below.

DIGITAL JANITOR: Sorter for downloaded files.

The Digital Janitor helps in sorting folders on the basis of where you wish specific file types to go. Suppose you have a Downloads folder where every type of files are downloaded, in the end you have to manually sort them out by copying files to various folders depending on file type. With Digital Janitor and a couple of clicks, you can define which file type should be moved to which folders, thus making the sorting process automated.

The working of the tool is very simple, specify the folder that you want to cleanup(in my case it is Downloads folder), choose the file type, then browse and select the directory to which you want to move the files of  the selected type.

Once done with the configuration, hit the Auto-Sort button and you will find your specified folder cleaned up and the files of each specified file type placed in the respective directory. You can specify a maximum of 7 rules which are enough for most users.
Hitting the Use Default option loads the default configuration and the Clear Fields option lets you reset the fields.
It is Compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
